Just Checking in...

Lately I've been reading more than blogging. I've been working on Owens' Halloween costume. He's going to be a woodland sprite. I'll post all of the pictures. I've been taking pictures of the projects as I'm working on them. His head dress is ready and beautiful, now all I need to do is tack the leaves onto his shirt and he'll be good to go. Love to you all. m.

you are such a mom!
I just bought my kids' costumes (to the surprise of my coworkers apparently) one is a bumblebee and the other, a creation she came up with using old costumes and a new mask, an evil blacksmith (don't ask!) I cannot wait to see what he looks like.

What materials are you using? When we were kids, it was "a ghost" every year. The shops didn't sell all that Hallowe'en crap back then (it being more of a US thing). Saying that though, we still get some kids comeing round here who really make an effort, we make sure they get more sweets than the others.

I can't wait to see the photos from over yonder - you transatlantic types don't half do it properly.

can't wait to see the pictures :)

Caleb is going to be a skeleton and Christian is a ninja! Tiffany bought their costumes. I was going to go the ghost route ((cheap)) :)

This is the first time I've "made" and not just "purchased" a costume for Owen. He's too big for the costumes that are sweet and too young for the costumes that would fit him. I'm just not ready for my 4 year old to be something scary. The costumes were just plain ugly this year.

I can't wait for him to see the finished product. He's been really good about not getting into the materials while I've had them out. He sees this as something special, momma making a costume for him. That kid is way smart. I just finished sewing on the leaves. It really turned out gorgeous. I'll post the pictures asap, probably friday. That way I can get a picture of him in it to post that as well. :-) I think I'm just as excited as he is. It's times like this that it is great being a mom.:-)

Oh, the materials, silk fall coloured foliage, red glittered leaves and tiny balls on wire and red beads on wire. They were all in the Christmas stuff, but they looked so pretty I couldn't pass them over. I also used red and gold spray glitter. I love glitter and am completely mesmerized by anything that is glittery.
