It a Hot One Out There!

Oh My Goodness!!!! I just went to the grocery store and Sam's Club. Stepped out of the door and the heat is oppressive! 95*F with a heat index of 101*F. For you in the UK about 37/38*C. I don't care which you call it, that's hot.

What's the difference between Hell and a Houston, TX Summer?
Hell is a DRY heat!

Stay cool out there! loveya! Michelle. :-D

btw: on a hot day like today, refrigerated white seedless grapes are a little slice of Heaven!

Yep, just got home and it's 88* at 11pm, with air you can wear. Yuck! Wishing I lived in the UK or Alaska right about now.

I got home just after midnight because we broke camp and ran for home due to a rolling thunderstorm that was heading our way. The wind changed directions suddenly and got cool. My friend Leonard yelled, "Break camp!" and a mere 10 seconds later the wind BLEW and our tent exploded and the picnic stuff went flying. Wind scares me so that gave me a heartattack. The tent just wasn't strong enough to take the 30+ mph straight winds that hit it. Ha ha. He he *faints*

My poor dear hubby has your little trip from the store door to your car beat by miles. Imagine being in full riding gear and standing in a parking lot all day long. The heat index is 110 in that situation-nasty. He's well trained in hydration so he keeps giving himself and his students contant water breaks.

Also, you should use one of those shiny car window visors to keep the car cool. I tell ya, they really do help a lot, especially when it comes to touching my steering wheel!

Water gooood.

Oh yeah, the hot steering wheel, whoa! That hurts. Used to drive an old Cheverolet Monte Carlo, no a/c, heat exuding into the cockpit, during rush hour traffice both ways from Richmond to Houston and back. miserable... I thank God for A/C!!! :-)

Your not in one of those states that doesn't use A/C are you? That's just crazy not to have A/C. Even 1 window unit in the living room would help. I hear about these people in Illinois that die from the heat. Man, buy a $100 unit and save your life. Our A/C went out last year during the hotest part of August. It was only for 3 days and not the hotest August we'd had (only about 95*). I thought I was gonna die from heat exhaustion. Luckily, the A/C company we use floated us a unit until we could pay them. Now that's good customer service!
