Christians, be silent no more!

This is an e-mail that I've gotten several times since 9-11-01 (the pictures didn't transfer over). Just because it's been around the net a zillion times doesn't make it any less true.

Our country was founded on religious freedoms. So why is it that any other religion can have a holiday or have a public display, but the Christian religion can't??? It infuriates me to no end. In the pretense of "Political Correctness", the Christians are being prejudiced against because of their beliefs. This has been the way it was since Christ, but the early Church was willing to die for the Truth.

We as Christians, in America, are so complacent in our belief that some else will speak up for what is right, that we just keep our mouths shut and let the "Overbearing Minority" speak for the majority. It's the old saying of "The squeaky wheel gets the grease." I've often commented to my husband that the insane idiots are the one's that get the microphone.

Most of the people who are speaking out on issues are so far from the "ordinary folk" of this country, that they have no idea what we are really thinking or what is truly on our hearts. And really, how could they know...they fly all over the world to shoot movies and get paid upwards of $10 million to do so. Even those people who are making $75, 000 per year have a drastically different life style than those who are scraping by on $35k to feed and house 2 adults, 1 child, 1 cat and 9 small fish.

Their reality is so far from our reality that they have no idea of what we want out of our government or society in general. The silent majority who believes in the sanctity of marriage, prayer in the church and home and on the appropriate occasions (high school football games and graduations, etc.) public events, to have our children grow up in a place where they are safe from suicide bombers, and deviants of all kinds; needs to speak up and be bold about what they want out of this government that we elect and this society we live in.

Just because we are Christians and are supposed to turn the other cheek, doesn't mean that God wants us to be oppressed. He commands us to speak out about what is right and good and proper. He wants us to keep our minds on higer things.

Our founding fathers were on fire for God. All you have to do is look up their quotes to see it is true. Then check it with the bible to see if what they wanted for our country matches up with what God wants for His creation. Get out there, get informed. Be bold in your convictions, be bold about your beliefs and Christians, be silent no more!

the e-mail is as follows:

DID YOU KNOW? As you walk up the steps to the building which houses the U.S. Supreme Court you can see near the top of the building a row of the world's law givers and each one is facing one in the middle who is facing forward with a full frontal view ... it is Moses and he is holding the Ten Commandments!

DID YOU KNOW?
As you enter the Supreme Court courtroom, the two huge oak doors have the Ten Commandments engraved on each lower portion of each door.

DID YOU KNOW?
As you sit inside the courtroom, you can see the wall,
right above where the Supreme Court judges sit,
a display of the Ten Commandments!

DID YOU KNOW?
There are Bible verses etched in stone all over the Federal Buildings and Monuments in Washington, D.C.

DID YOU KNOW?
James Madison, the fourth president, known as "The Father of Our Constitution" made the following statement:
"We have staked the whole of all our political institutions upon the capacity of mankind for self-government, upon the capacity of each and all of us to govern ourselves, to control ourselves, to sustain ourselves according to the Ten Commandments of God."

DID YOU KNOW?
Patrick Henry, that patriot and Founding Father of our country said:
"It cannot be emphasized too strongly or too often that this great nation was founded not by religionists but by Christians, not on religions but on the Gospel of Jesus Christ".

DID YOU KNOW?
Every session of Congress begins with a prayer by a paid preacher, whose salary has been paid by the taxpayer since 1777.

DID YOU KNOW?
Fifty-two of the 55 founders of the Constitution were members of the established orthodox churches in the colonies.

DID YOU KNOW?
Thomas Jefferson worried that the Courts would overstep their authority and instead of interpreting the law would begin making law . an oligarchy:
the rule of few over many. (sound familiar???)

DID YOU KNOW?
The very first Supreme Court Justice, John Jay, said:
"Americans should select and prefer Christians as their rulers."

How, then, have we gotten to the point that everything we have done for 220 years in this country is now suddenly wrong and unconstitutional?

I was asked to send this on if I agreed or delete if I didn't. Now it is your turn...
It is said that 86% of Americans believe in God. Therefore, it is very hard to understand why there is such a mess about having the Ten Commandments on display or "In God We Trust" on our money and having God in the Pledge of Allegiance. Why don't we just tell the other 14% to Sit Down and SHUT UP!!!
