Blaming the Creator
There are so many people who think that if something goes wrong in there lives that God did this. He's punishing me for some sin I've done.
Folks...God doesn't make bad things happen to you. He helps you get through the hard times. By relying on His strength and His tender mercies, we can get through this life on Earth and through faith in His son as our Saviour we will then one day leave this wretched place and reside with our Father in Heaven and be at perfect peace in our final home.
Much love to you. In Christ, mhn. ><>

I agree - and I ain't even a believer. The way I see it is this - God is a God, God ain't a social worker.
I'm not too sure that he's "social worker" per se, but I do know in my heart that He is our loving creator/father and as a father, He wants the best for His children. Hope you have a great day, Herge!! :-)
He Paid a Debt He did not owe, We owed a Debt we could not Pay!
Have a blessed day Mhn...LoL, Tammyy
I think we are responsible for ourselves, and if we do good, God sees that and rewards us for it. If we are needy, he's somehow guiding us through it, in some form or another. THat's what I think anyway.
You are absolutely right! Fruits of the Spirit, Rowan. I think it is in the book of James that says "faith without works is dead." I think alot of people/Christians get that confused with works righteous. The other religions are all works righteous. You do good works and you go to heaven, if you do enough. Christ on the other hand died for us because we couldn't do as humans what God commanded. Darn that free will...:-) So here we are, with the Holy Spirit living in our hearts, and through that faith we are able to do great things in this world. Those are the fruits of the spirit.
To me it is an amazing thing that someone would sacrifice their own life for me and they didn't even know me. Why me? I'm totally not worthy. I know that this is the best blessing that He has bestowed upon me.
I can also tell when I'm doing what He wants. I must be doing it now, because after working at his job for 5 years, Dave finally has a boss who is great and appreciates all his hard work. She gave him 2 raises(cost of living and merit) during the time she's been his boss(1 year) and told him he will get a promo in January. His previous bosses didn't like him for some reason, could never tell why, and passed him over for cost of living raises for 3 years. That's not even merit raises. So we really feel that God is blessing us. Of course, He is also blessing us by letting us find such wonderful people to commune with, such as yourself and our other blogging friends. Your friendships are invaluable to me. :-)
Yes ma'am Tammy!
He did do that before He sent His Son. I'm not sure that He gives the devil "permission" as such, but rather doesn't stop him. Then we can either (by free will) turn away from Him or go to Him in repentence and need. Just like we would have done with our parents when we were children. That's how I look at that. :-)
God says that he'll use the bad events and bad times in our lives for our good. God can use any bad situation to bring about the good and understanding of his love. That gives me the faith to go on, knowing that every bad thing that happens, also has a good side.
It was in one of the Little House on the Prairie books when Laura writes about the grasshoppers and how they ate their whole crop and left nothing. But the mother said that God was still providing for them because now they didn't have to buy feed for the chickens. :)
(Those books have been strangely influencial in my life!)
