Horned Moth
This was a giant moth that I saw on the side of a house that our friend Dave was showing to a prospective buyer. It is a horned moth. Perfect for Austin since the University of Texas's mascot is a Longhorn Bovine!

Very cool...
We thought so. :-) Thanks.
Wow... Great picture!!! If you take it into photoshop you could zoom in, and make the background white and it will really stand out!!
Very Cool!
Thanks for the tip!
that is neat, we don't get those here...that is the weirdest looking moth i think I've ever seen. We just get your everyday variety round here.

It was so strange that I knew I had to amuse my readers with a picture of this lacy winged creature. btw: I really hate bugs!! This one was still otherwise I'd have been running!
I am not a moth fan. I still haven't got over the Deaths Head moth in 'The Silence of the Lambs.
I'm with you...(shuddering...)
What? Can't stand bugs? Then you better end your dreams of jetting off to a tropical paradise. The more tropical the environment, the BIGGER and MEANER the bugs. All those little islands, Aruba & Jamaica, and Hawaii might give you a heart attack.
I speak from experience.
Actually, a "tropical paradise" has never been one of my dreams. I much prefer cold weather climates. I am happiest when the weather is cold. This way I can breathe. :-)
