It's Been A Long Time

These last two weeks have been busy, Busy, BUSY! We got the mil moved off to northern Texas and she is getting settled. Since I've been back, we've had torrential rains, 3 doctor appointments in two days and one more to go by Friday, the car died on me while going to soccer practice (so I had to be towed across town and cancel practice for the second time-rain got us the day before.), I'm still having to deal with this stupid ear infection and I've had three teeth filled!

It's no wonder I'm tired and haven't been blogging.

Good news though, the boy has been invited to participate in the Accelerated Reader program for his school. Kinders don't usually get asked to do so, because most of them are just learning to read and aren't quite at the accelerated level yet(by first grade they start this program). We are going to the meeting tonight to see what it is all about. I'm so glad we taught him to read a long time ago. :-)

Dreamers' Reality

The dreamers' reality has been more reality than dreamer lately. I feel pretty accomplished today. I took the boy to school and went to get an oil change for my car, then got the tires balanced and rotated all in preperation for helping the mil to move her vehicle to Lewisville.

Last week, this week and next week are going to be supremely busy. We started soccer meetings last week and started practices and games this week, I still am in choir, so I've got that and helping where ever else I am needed. Next week the pil stuff moves, then on saturday of the that week, we have a game, then move my mil.

On a sad note:
My niece gave birth to a still born baby girl, at 19-20 weeks, yesterday. We will have the funeral Friday and I'll sing for them. We are all deeply saddened by this turn of events. Please pray for them. Thank you.

Good Grief...

Lordy, it has been forever since I have posted. This week has been crazy. We've been helping the hubby's mom pack up and go through 40 some years of accumulated stuff. Some of which gets to come live with us. :-)

We started having the coaches meetings for soccer and this week I went to the doc for my ear. It's still not cleared up and having to be on antibiotics is driving me crazy, not to mention the expense. He's rather concerned because I am on pretty strong meds and I don't seem to be getting any better.

I went on an interview this week. I found out that the school that I used to work for had a position open for a pre-school teachers assistant. They liked me, but I was not quite right for what they needed. That's ok, because I had the opportunity to meet the new principle and hang with one of my favourite people for a few hours. It was a great morning and I discovered that I really miss being in the classroom. We shall see what God has in store for me. If he wants me there, then I will be there. :-)

For the next few weeks, I will be pretty busy helping the mil get ready to move. We saw an apartment that looks just like the one they will be getting. It's really nice, yet much smaller than their house. They will have to pare down a bit more, but I think that things will be just fine. This weekend while we were being shown Lewisville, we saw that there is a roller rink close to the complex. I'm excited! I'm hoping to teach the boy how to skate and he'll get to go there when he stays with the grandparents.

Currently, our next door neighbors son is teaching the boy how to ride his bicycle without training wheels. He really is the sweetest kid. Hopefully, O will learn to ride before Gammie moves. He's got about 1-2 weeks.

There is so much going on and yet I can't think of anything else, except that I have spent the last couple of weeks reading the "Little House" books by Laura Ingalls Wilder. In the last two days I've started 3 books and finished two. If you haven't read the books or even heard of them, please look them up. They are just wonderful. I hate to finish them because I feel like I'll be leaving cherished friends. Yes, I know that I am a dork. (I felt the same way after reading the Harry Potter and the Jane Austen books.)

Anyway, this has you caught up on me and my loved ones. I love you all and hope to get to "visit" you all soon.

Much love and affection, mhn for short.
